Equinox comes from the Latin words aequi, which means “equal,” and nox, which means “night.” All in all, on the day of an equinox, daytime and nighttime are approximately equal duration all over the planet – about 12 hours each.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
